  • The Department of Electronics is established in this college in the year 1990. This is a premier institution in South Odisha, which started functioning from the year 1963.
  • Electronics, as a core subject at under graduate level, was started in the year 1990. In due course, this Department got an opportunity to open Electronics as major elective for the benefit of the students of other Department.
  • In the year 2011, Electronics as a Hons. Subject is opened in the department as self-financing mode. At present, the Department is running under autonomy and CBCS pattern of courses.
  • The department introduced an ADD-ON course Electrical Electronics and Telecommunication (EETC) sponsored by UGC.

About Course Programme

This course is being offered since the inception of the Department of Electronics in the year 1990-91, with joint sponsorship of University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Department of Electronic to cater the need for Electronics personnel in the R & D sector of Government organizations, public sector, and private sector units of the country. At present, it is a CBCS based six semester course.

The program aims at training the students in the area of Semiconductor Electronics, Digital and Analog Electronics, and RF & Microwave Technology. The students also have to undergo courses in computer oriented numerical techniques. The course structure intends to inculcate strong laboratory skills so that the student can take up independent projects which will help to be an entrepreneur.

How to Enter into the Course Programme

For admission into B. Sc. (Electronics) course, the Admission is based on the marks secured in +2 examinations.

The admissions are held by the SAMS. Total number of seats of the programme is 32. Out of which 16.25% are reserved for SC, 22.5% for ST,5% for physically challenged student and 1%  for Ex-Service man.

1. Being a member of Board of Studies of Berhampur University in Electronics, Dr. P.K. Nanda took active participation for revision of the course in CBCS pattern.

2. Dr. Nanda along with other faculty members of the Department took active participation in Board of Studies of the College and introduced the CBCS syllabus at UG level.        

3. Being the OIC of  UGC , active member of IQAC & NAAC Steering committee Dr.Nanda is taking keen interest for the development work of the college.

4. Being the Head of the Department Dr. Nanda has been taking keen interest in the Discipline Committee, conducting of Monthly Test Examination, Extension Activity and as Deputy Center Superintendent of different semester examinations.

5. From the year 2013 to 2015 Dr. Nanda was assigned the duty as CTO in NCC of the college.

6. Being a senior faculty in the college, Dr. Nanda is taking keen interest for conducting Cultural activities, various functions of the college, SWACCHA BHARAT AVIYAAN, WORLD AIDS DAY, BLOOD DONATION CAMP, INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY, PPT for Seminars of various departments.

1. Lt. Sradhanjali Sahu has successfully completed PRCN training at NCC(OTA), GWALIOR, MP during the period from 16th   August,2016 to 13th Novemember,2016. She has actively participated in “Training on Life Skills and Personality Development”, organized by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNYID), Regional Center, Chandigarh.

2. Lt. Sradhanjali Sahu has received a DO letter from Col. Ashwani Kumar, Commanding Officer, in which he has expressed his gratitude, felicitation and compliments for the valuable contribution of  Lt. Sahu in NIC-1, at Amritsar, which is the pride of our department.

3. Lt. Sradhanjali Sahu has attended Zonal Volunteers’ Training Programme, YRC, Southern Region, Odisha.

4. Lt. Sradhanjali Sahu  has represented NCC  Directorate ODISHA at the Annual   NCC Republic day Camp at New Delhi from 01.Jan to 29. Jan.2019.

5. Lt. Sradhanjali Sahu  is  awarded  by Gen. Bipin Rawat the Chief Of the Army Staff  IN PURSUIT OF ALL ROUND EXCELLENCE.

6. Lt. Sradhanjali Sahu  is appreciated by DG NCC in INSTRUMENT FOR NCC FOR NATION BUILDING.

7. As Lt. Sradhanjali Sahu has been assigned the duty of OIC, Self Defence, she is conducting self defence camps in which 50 girl students are taking part.

As the Associate OIC of College Garden Miss Beauty Nayak is taking keen interest for cleaning of the college campus, development of Botanical Garden and beautification of the campus.

Seminar Library

  • The seminar library is well equipped with more than 100 text and reference books catering to the needs of students and teachers. Apart from books related to curriculum advanced books are also available which help in enhancing the quality  of the students.

Computing

  • Minimum required computing facilities are at present available. Expansions are being planned for early implementation.

Laboratories

  • There are Two Labs:  Analog Digital Circuit Lab and Microprocessor & Communication Lab.

3 17.09.2014 BISWAKARMA PUJA On the holy occasion of biswakarmaPuja the students worshipped Lord Biswakarma. Prasad sebana was also arranged by our students after puja.
4 17.10.2014 PLANTATION Our Students haveParticipated in cleaning the Campusand planted several medicinal plants in the garden.
5 08.12.2014 STUDY TOUR Our department students have arranged a Study Tour  toZiranga. That was a nice place to trip on.
6 20.02.2015 FAREWELL The junior students bid a Farewell to their Seniors . A meeting was arranged in the presence of Principal & H.O.D. of the Department with other faculties.

5 07.01.2017 STUDY TOUR Our department students went on a study tour  toDaringbadi- The Kashmir of Odisha. They enjoyed a lot and returned on the same day.
6 30.03.2017 FAREWELL A meeting was arranged in the presence of Principal & H.O.D. of the Department with other faculties, where the juniors bid farewell to the final yr. students of the department.

He has participated in DISTRICT YOUTH PARLIAMENT of NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL Under the Ministry of Youth Affairs And Sports(Govt.of India)  on 28.12.2020  organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra,Cuttack (Odisha).

He has awarded for participating in BUDGET DIALOGUES 2021 As the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports  held on 7th -8th Jan 2021 at New Delhi.
